From my earliest recollections as a missionary kid from a remote village in Thailand , to my years spent in the tropical rain forests of Malaysia to my grandmother's garden in northern Minnesota I have always been fascinated by the creative genius that went into designing flowers. With my painting I seek to share with others my own sense of awe at the intricate beauty of God's creation.
I find the luminosity of watercolor allows me to best express the exuberance with which God filled His universe with color, form and light. My style is to move in close to my subject, to capture abstract shapes and patterns and the way light falls on them and brings color to life. My wish is to grab people's attention for a moment so they will notice the wealth of beauty God has lavished on us. |
